Am I too old for braces?
Of course not! Braces are often associated with adolescents and young adults, but orthodontic treatments can be just as effective for adults of all ages.
Do braces hurt?
When you first get braces, or after an adjustment, you may experience soreness or discomfort in your gums, teeth and jaw. This is perfectly normal, and is actually a sign that the treatment is working. Your discomfort should go away naturally after a few days.
If your discomfort persists, or if a wire is poking your gums, tongue or cheeks, you should call your orthodontist to ask about resolving the problem.
How long will my course of treatment last?
